The second volume of the 2004 position paper is dedicated to the energy market in Israel and the importance of establishing a sustainable energy market.

Energy production and consumption creates environmental problems such as air pollution, resources depletion, as well as soil and water contamination.

Chapter 1 of this volume was written by Prof. (Em.) Dan Zaslavsky. A detailed description of the creation of a sustainable energy market.

Chapter 2 summarizes a workshop conducted in Samuel Neaman Institute. The means to reduce air pollution from transportation by using clean fuels, advanced technologies and policy measures are described.

Chapter 3 deals with soil and water pollution from transporting and storing fuels. Several conclusions and suggestions for action are presented.
